Located in the province of Erbil, the Christian camp of Ainkawa 2 is made up of around 5,500 people living in 1,088 prefabricated units. Open in spring 2015, it has since developed and has schools and sports facilities.
Since April 2016, EliseCare has been providing care in a small clinic located in the camp with a team that alternates between on-site consultations and those provided when moving from the Erbil mobile clinic.
In an effort to improve the services provided to the populations, in October 2016, EliseCare built a fixed dispensary the Ainkawa 2 camp, backed by the existing clinic.
This fixed essential near Erbil offers permanent access to care for displaced populations in Ainkawa 2 camp and the surrounding areas who are unable to return to their region of origin. Thus, it helps to lighten the public health system in this area.
The team fixed clinic id the same as the mobile clinic in Erbil, which alternates between the two.
